martian-modem software package provides ltmodem alternative driver providing support for Agere WinModem, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install martian-modem
martian-modem is installed in your system.
Make ensure the martian-modem package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep martian-modem *
You will get with martian-modem package name, version, architecture and description in a table
